About Us
Steve and Amber met in 2006, were married in 2007, and had their first child (Owen) in 2008. They knew they wanted a large family and after Owens birth, they decided to grow their family through fostering and adopting. They began fostering in 2014. After fostering several children that were reunited with biological family, a set of 6-month-old twin girls were placed with the Pursley's. Steve and Amber had the privilege to adopt Elizabeth (named for Steve's mom and grandmother) and Ivy (named for Amber's mom and grandmother) in 2015. Then, in 2017, Molly (Age 6) and Elsie (18 months) were placed with the family. Steve and Amber were able to adopt them in 2018. Finally, Johnathan (Age 8) was placed with the family in 2019 and adopted in 2021.
As of 2023, there are over 6,000 children in West Virginia in the foster care system and that number continues to grow. The Pursley's are a testament to the type of wonderful, loving children in the foster care system who need a home. If you have any questions about or interest in fostering or adopting, ask to speak with Amber or Steve and they'll be happy to talk to you about their experience and point you in the right direction.

About The Goat
During their marriage, Steve and Amber made it their hobby to seek out independent coffee shops to experience distinct vibes and flavors. This exposure to unique environments and delicious voyages inspired them to open the "greatest of all time" environment of their own. But guess what? That's not actually where the name comes from.

According to legend, a goat herder named Kaldi stumbled upon what we now recognize as coffee beans in a town called Sufi. While out in the field, his goats nibbled on some fruits from a bush and became unusually energetic. Curious about their reaction, Kaldi boiled some of the fruit for himself, eventually creating what we now know as coffee.

Whether this story is true or not remains a mystery, but it has a goat in it, so here we are! And because our story now includes you - we have a map in the shop where you can pin where you're from! Whether you're local or just passing through, we’d love to see how far the GOAT coffee love travels. Grab a pin and make your mark!
